Traveling by air, into Mexico

When entering Mexico, 2 forms will be completed
      1)      A form called the FMM (Tourist Visa) – the immigration officeer keeps the blue side, and give you back the green side.
a.       The blue side is your Entry into Mexico, and the green side is your departure visa to leave Mexico.
It is VERY IMPORTANT to keep the green part (with your passport) as you MUST have this to leave Mexico.
b.      The Mexican government levis a fee for these visitor permits (FMMs) –
approx $22.
If you fly into Mexico, the fee is usually included in your ticket’s ‘fees and surcharges’.

c. You can also fill out your FMM right before your trip, online, and print it,
to take with you on your flight.

     2)      Also during your flight to Mexico you will be given a Customs Declaration form. Each head of household needs to fill this out. Again it asks for your basic passport info, how long you will be in Mexico, and how much luggage you have. Most importantly it asks if you are carrying 10,000 US Dollars or more, any meat, food, plants, chemicals, weapons, or merchandise for which you need to pay duty.

On a side-note, there is now an official app for Android phones, called “Mobile Passport”.
The website that talks about this is here.
If you’re flying into certain U.S. cities (21 cities so far), via an international flight,
you can complete your customs form right on your phone,
and then show the ‘receipt/form’ to the Customs agent, once you go thru Customs.

  1. Under the FMM airport list, I can't find the airport I'm flying into. Queretaro airport. I guess I'm out of luck as far as filling it out ahead of time?
